Hi, I'm Amber...

I'm a knitwear designer, author and machine knitting teacher.

I'm hugely passionate about the craft of machine knitting and love passing on these fantastic skills.

I'm a firm believer in beginners learning the mechanics of machine knitting to start with and encourage everyone to experiment from that baseline. Understanding the stitch formations and how the machine is working is crucial to developing your own work.

Play is a huge part of the way I teach and design. There are so many exciting things you can do with machine knitting, with endless possibilities, I love to give you the confidence to get creative and inspire you to see what you can achieve.

Why learn from me?

  • I have 17 years experience with knitting machines, learning at University whilst studying fashion and textiles.

  • Taught 100's of people both in person and during online workshops in machine knitting since 2016.

  • Author of "Machine knitting techniques: Texture & 3D Effects". Published in 2023 by The Crowood Press. I love showing what incredible things you can do with this machine.

  • Taught a Masterclass, workshop and presented for the online Machine Knitting Community.

  • I use my many years of experience & large collection of samples & garments to cover the basic techniques but expand them & give you lots of new ideas and the confidence in using them.

  • Over the past 8 years I've made and sold luxury knitwear products direct to customers and through several stockists. In 2020 I showcased & sold products in a pop-up with John Lewis in partnership with The Great British Exchange.

  • A first class BA (HONS) in fashion/textile design and was selected to show at Graduate Fashion Week in the Bristol and Gala show. My work has been exhibited as part of Shanghai Fashion week and as a finalist at the Knit and Stitch Graduate show where I was presented with an innovation award by the Craft Council.
